Stress is a natural part of life and we have evolved physiological responses to help us combat things which threaten our survival. However, in today’s society, stress is often chronic and inescapable. This constant state, without sufficient rest and recuperation, can have significant effects on health and wellbeing.

The normal functioning of the body - the Relaxation State - allows the body to heal, rest and perform important maintenance, keeping us healthy and happy. Meditation has been shown to be one way of helping activate this state, and as such may help to reduce the effects of stress. It has also been suggested to be of potential benefit in lowering blood pressure.

Meditation Classes offered at The Wellbeing Studio, by our resident Holistic Massage Therapist & Meditation Teacher, Kerry are non-religious and aim to introduce you to meditation and help develop a regular meditation practice with ease and confidence. This meditation practice does not require any forced concentration, is easy to learn, and can be incorporated into even the busiest day.

Kerry has personally practised meditation on a regular basis since 2010 as part of her own health and wellbeing regime, and also studied Meditation as a modality of her Holistic Massage Diploma. She has in-depth understanding of stress and its effect on the body both from an academic perspective and personal experience, and is passionate about helping others to address the effects that stress may have on their health and wellbeing.

Meditation Teacher and Holistic Massage Therapist

Kerry is a Meditation Teacher and fully qualified Holistic Massage Therapist. She studied with the Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork and was awarded her Massage Training Institute Level 4 Diploma in Holistic Massage, Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, with modalities in Meditation in 2015. She is a Registered Massage Practitioner of the Massage Training Institute, and is also registered for Massage Therapy with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council.
